Yacht Charter to Club 55, St Tropez
Chartering a Boat to Club 55, Pampelonne Beach and the St Tropez Beach Clubs - Discover Club 55 St Tropez, Bagatelle, Tropezina, Les Palmiers & Nikki Beach
By far, our most popular French Riviera day charter cruise is from Cannes to St. Tropez. Each year, we receive hundreds of requests from the Film Festival in May continuing all summer long. This is the destination of choice if you want to experience the real St Tropez.
Club 55 got its name in 1955 when the iconic French actress Brigitte Bardot was filming 'And God Created Women' on Pampelonne Beach - the director asked a fisherman's hangout if they could cook for the cast and it has since been synonymous with the St Tropez Beach scene since then, and it never disappoints!
Club 55 is a well-groomed private beach club in the middle of Pampelonne Beach, combined with a laid back and elegant outdoor restaurant that serves exquisite beach cuisine in a buzzy yet relaxed setting. It is our most requested destination in the South of France for hire, and well known as a retreat for VIP guests and celebrities alike.
A typical day at Club 55, assuming you're coming by yacht and not by the heavily congested road from the A8 Motorway via St Maxime, begins after a 1-2 hour cruise from Antibes, Monaco or Cannes to St Tropez past the beautiful Esterel red rock coastline. Mangustas, Leopards, Sunseekers and a variety of different Super Yachts literally line up to anchor just off the beach, where the Club's tender will zip out to meet your party and bring you to the dock.
Make sure you get to the beach early in order to find the best available spot, and spend the day relaxing and people watching. You'll have plenty of time as it is most likely you'll be eating lunch at 3:00 or 3:30 (the early seatings are booked up for the regulars in the club).
The classic restaurant offers fresh food, that is simply and perfectly prepared. A large catch of the day, served for an entire table with fried potato chips, is a definite favourite. Starters are a good selection of fresh seasonal vegetables, and other classics such as Prosciutto and Melon and Salad Nicoise. Make sure you order the house Rosé, which is crisp and light, and marries perfectly with the fresh seafood.
The service at the club is outstanding, with waitors on hand at all times to make sure you have a simply perfect day. The club is managed by Patrice de Colmont, son of the original owner. He is a fantastic presence within the club and remains to have a passion for making sure his restaurant is serving great food and run with efficiency and class.
On a regular summer day, the restaurant will serve over 1000 lunches. But, due to the convivial, natural feel of the restaurant, it never feels crowded. The restaurant is perfect for celebrations of any kind, from anniversaries in a quiet table for two, to a large birthday party with 20 people. A little known treat is to visit the restaurant during the Christmas holidays, when it is still warm in the sun but there are no crowds around.

St Tropez Beach Clubs
There are of course other beach clubs on Pampelonne Beach - so if Club 55 is not to your taste, there is plenty to choose from. Each of the beach clubs has something unique to offer, they range from the more classic, serene and tranquil beach clubs such as Les Palmiers, to the more vibrant and lively ones like Nikki Beach - there is something for everyone so take your pick!
Here's the current list of beach clubs on Pampelonne Beach:
At Bagatelle you can unwind on the chic blue & white loungers and enjoy some of the culinary delights created by their innovative Executive Chef, Nicolas Cantrel. This beach club is said to be Club 55's biggest rival along Pampellone Beach, and you can tell why - with a typically French theme throughout combined with a vibrant twist of creativity seen in their dynamic artwork and design, it is one not to be missed.
Tropezina is another fantastic beach hotspot where you can lounge in the sun with a cocktail in hand and while away the afternoon quite happily. Located in the closest position to St Tropez on the Pampelonne Beach, and appearing to be an oasis of white – you can’t miss it!
One of the lesser-known beach clubs in the area and popular with the locals is Les Palmiers. This low-key location is equipped with ample sun loungers and comfortable outdoor furniture with a central dining area, all in all providing the perfect spot for a light and relaxing lunch. Les Palmiers is most definitely a food-oriented beach club; they have an excellent restaurant serving classic French cuisine, with daily specials created with the freshest seafood and agricultural delights that Provence has to offer!
Nikki Beach is quite the contrast to Les Palmiers, with a vibrant environment and party atmosphere! With a vast array of sunbeds lying next to an open-air swimming pool and a scattering of poolside bars, there is always someone on hand to mix you your favourite cocktail. The menu presents a mix of international flavours, from l'entrecôte to sushi!
